Who am I?

I am Nadia, a native French speaker from the beautiful Midi region in the South of France, and after 28 years as a lecturer at Cardiff University, I am excited to launch a new venture offering affordable, friendly, and inclusive French conversation and culture classes for adult learners.

At Cardiff University, I taught French language and culture at undergraduate level, as well as postgraduate modules in Translation. I was also actively involved in adult education through the French Studies programme (now part of Continuing and Professional Education) from 1997 onwards. I am proud to be a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and an accredited examiner for the DELF (Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française).

Over the years, I have worked with students of all ages and backgrounds, always adapting my teaching to suit different needs, learning styles, and confidence levels. I believe that adult learners deserve engaging, accessible, and enjoyable language classes, especially those returning to study after a long break. Each class is carefully designed to reflect the diversity of learners, taking into account different levels of experience, accessibility needs, and goals. My aim is to create a warm and relaxed environment where everyone feels supported and inspired.

I have observed that many mature students return to French studies with great enthusiasm, but sustaining motivation over time requires thoughtful planning and adaptive teaching. Given the varied levels of language proficiency, confidence, and life experience among adult learners, it is essential to design flexible and engaging content that evolves week by week.

If you are looking to learn or rediscover French in a dynamic, inclusive setting. I would love to welcome you to one of my classes!

Nadia is absolutely fabulous and possibly the best teacher I've had in my 16 years of education so far.
